Joining Another KAL

For those of you who don’t knit, a KAL is a Knit Along! These are fun things to do. Witness my participation in the Socks with Sarah KAL – we just simply work on socks every day this year. So far I’ve finished four pairs of socks and am on my fifth! Since I just learned how to knit socks – I’m pretty hooked on that now.

My new KAL is http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/designs-by-joji/2963971/1-25?jump=1 and is a KAL with Designs by Joji. Joji Locatelli is the most fabulous knitwear designer on the planet. Of all of my favorite designers, Joji is on the top. I have completed a Boxy sweater designed by her and I like it so much, I started another one.

My new Lipstick sweater here

was designed by Joji, as you can tell from the picture of her! Our KAL starts August 1 and I didn’t know that until this morning. I had begun my Lipstick last night, but since I am a new knitter there were a few things I had to read up on. I am going to start over because I lost my place in the pattern ——— I need both my row markers going so I don’t get lost again. It will be okay to start over.

This sweater is going to be worn a lot. I am usually never cold, so this will be a great sweater to wear to the nursing home. In winter the temperature in there is an average of 85 degrees! I walk in and want to climb out the window for fresh air. The people are mostly elderly and I guess always cold …………. which is one reason my oil bill was through the roof the last year DH was at home!

Can’t wait to get started again ………… got socks to finish first!

I have the first four! They’re the original ones, the wild purple ones, the blue and green ones and the pink and white ……… now I’m doing a multi-color with red, blue, white and yellow using Regia yarn. Love it!
